Sons that will be ultimately be entrusted with the responsibility of voting.I suppose that by virtue of being men, they are innately immune to a mother's vindictive nature and corrupt ways.Women do not need suffrage.There are obviously other ways to achieve their goals as the following quote so readily illustrates."Good cooking lessens alcoholic craving quicker than a vote on local opinion.That school of thought was a tough blow to the suffrage movement as it was deeply rooted in the temperance movement.People involved with alcohol as a business were tremendous opponents to the movement as they saw the next step after women suffrage likely to be prohibition.Women with the vote will spend their time with politics and neglect their children.Politics would corrupt the women's sphere.This battle also has serious religious implications.It is said that giving women the right to vote is denying the will of God.The following saying sums up that argument beautifully."Our ribs were not ordained to be our rulers."
