I am going to write about the Cheyenne Indian tribe. I will explain all about its culture, environment, religion, housing, food, social life, beliefs, values, and where they lived. It will be very interesting to know how they lived and what heritage they left us.

The Cheyenne Indians lived in the Great Plains at east of the Rocky Mountains and West of Mississippi River and the place they before lived was in the eastern of United States, the Montana Great Plains at East of the Rocky Mountains and the West of Mississippi River. Actually, they live in Montana and Oklahoma. The name Cheyenne means red talker or people of a different speech. Its language was and is the Algonquin. At first, they were sedentary, because they lived in villages, in apartments done of adobe. They used the land for farming, hunting, collecting rice, and making pottery. They used the wood from forest to make tools and canoes. They fished on the pacific coast.

In the 1700s, when they got horses from Spanish people, they become nomads. They lived in shelters called tepees, which were easy to build and disassemble. They moved because they followed the buffalos herd that was their main food source. They become very dependent on the buffalo, which was used for everything, such as tools, weaponry, medicine, shelter, jewelry, masks, drums, etc. For clothing they used the buckskin, deers skin, which was softer and appropriated for winter.

The daily life of Cheyenne start in the morning, before the sunrise, they prepared for the day. The man builds the fire while the woman gets the water from a close stream and the kids take a bath in there. After, the woman prepared the morning meal and boys drive the horses into camp. After meal the older crier on his horse make announcements. After that, the kids play (swimming, running, molding with clay); the women go in-groups gathering woods and roots, joking and laughing. The older men make pipes, bows, and arrows. The men go to hunting. In the afternoon women prepared the meal while the others enhance with music, dancing, and other activities. An important custom was the smoking of the peace pipe, which followed rules and praying when it was practiced. Also, the story telling, which was only done by certain people.

The Cheyenne Indians were a tribe very organized socially and politically. The men were 7 divided in warriors castes by age, such as thunder bows, wolf soldiers, fox soldiers, bull soldiers, and dogmen, which were the most powerful. They maintained order within the tribes. The Cheyenne exercised the diplomacy when they had to deal with other tribes coming to an agreement. The Cheyenne were very organized. They divided their people in ten bands; each led by a council of 44 chief. But they were not well prepared for war.

An important ceremony was called the sun dance that was taken in summer. It was ceremony of celebration that lasts around four to eight days. People danced without stop, without eating and drinking, since the sunset day of preparation to the ending at sunset of last day. Some pierced their chests with skewers. They believed that gods and ancestors would talk them and they could get their land back. Other ceremony was the Powwow, whish was a celebration or prayer to the Great Spirit.

They believed in many gods, they believed that their gods manifested through the sun, moon, stars, animals, and nature. The Cheyenne creation is very alike to Christianitys creation. Also, they believe in the prophet, Sweet Medicine, who established their government and gave them laws and values with concepts of love, respect, and cooperation.

They became successful traders on the Great Plains, they were intermediaries between white settlers and other native American tribes. They traded fur, horses, and moccasins for food, guns, products, and tobacco.Cheyenne Indians went trough many wars against other tribes and their greatest enemy was the whites, who broke their promise not taking the land. The most tragic event was the Sand Creek Massacre, where many Indians died. Today, the Cheyenne are located in Oklahoma and The Tongue River Indian Reservation. Their population has grown and they are a tribe with 5,000 members approximately, and they still fight for their freedom and independence.

In conclusion, I learned about this Indian tribe, how they lived, what they believed, their customs, values, and culture. Also, They actually are trying to get their freedom and

THE EXORCIST

Of all the characters the one in which I believe is the most central of them all would be the mother, Ellen Burstyn. I think this is the most central character because she is the person that suffers a bid ordeal of the time besides the daughter. Also, not only that but she goes on through an emotional breakdown. In this type of case the mother feels hopeless because there is nothing that she could possibly do for her daughter to get out of this circumstance. Not only that, but also another reason why I think that she is the central character rather then her daughter is that after a person being possessed and an exorcism occurring they tend to forget everything. Therefore, even in the movie it shows you that the little girl had no memory whatsoever of this incident. Due to this, there is more reason to say that Ellen Burstyn is the most central character.

I.Who do you feel has won in the end.

I, for one, feel that the mother has won the battle, because she gets her old daughter back. Meaning a sigh of relief since her daughter isn't dead and her lacerations have been physical rather then mentally. For that reason, the reality is that the mother wins since she gets the person that she loves so much back, not only that but the little girl doesn't suffer any consequences for her past actions (killing of Jack MacGOWRAN).

II.Explain how The Exorcist can be seen as a story of Heroic Love.

The writer, William Peter Blatty said that in reality he wanted to make a movie about Heroic Love. Now, the question is how could The Exorcist be seen as a story of Heroic Love. Well, to me in the beginning I couldn't assimilate this movie to be based in Heroic Love but after analyzing it, you actually can. You see this movie could be based on this for the fact that there was love going on with the mother and the daughter not only that but Father Karris actually made a bigger part of proving this. Since he gave his life up because he knew that after the demon possessed him his body wasn't going to be able to deal with such a thing. Also, he knew that if he didn't kill himself the demon possessing him would have done whatever he wanted with his body which would have led on to the killing of the little girl. Therefore, it takes love of oneself and heroism to actually do such a thing as Father Karris did. To conclude, this proves my point of this movie also being based on Heroic Love.

"A Story of A Life" - St. Therese of Lisieux

by Guy Gaucher, O.C.D.

1) What qualities made St. Therese of Lisieux possess that make her a great Saint?

St. Therese is known to many as the greatest Saint of modern times mostly because of her strong devotion to God. She believed that with faith no temptation could take over. St. Therese's life began with a stormy adolescence. She experienced three maternal losses starting with the death of her mother when she was 4 ½, and the parting of her sisters Pauline and Marie, who left to become nuns. They were like mothers to Therese. These losses lead to Therese's unhappiness, shyness, sensitivity, and insecurities. Yet, she never lost faith in God and even as a child Therese was very religious. Her religious fervor led her to become a Carmelite nun at the age of 15, choosing to live a life of silence and penance. Therese devoted her whole life to God. She spent most of he life praying and writing. She was deeply immersed with God. Therese spent nine years at Carmel and throughout that time she showed that she was very honest, loving, caring, faithful, and most of all, holy. Therese also cared very much for others and opened her heart to every soul she came across, including her priest-brothers whom she loved deeply and corresponded with until her death. She never stopped praying and completely devoted herself to the Lord.

) Who in your experience exhibits these same qualities? Explain.

I believe that my late Grandma (Nanny) had some of the qualities that St. Therese had. My Nanny was extremely religious and showed a strong belief in God, just as Therese did. My Nanny was the only daughter of 7 hildren and she came from a poor Italian immigrant family. Since her and her mother were the only two women in the household, Nanny had to do most of the house work (cooking, cleaning, etc) at a very young age. This was similar to Therese. Also like Therese, Nanny had a rough childhood, loosing her own mother (my great grandmother) at the tender age of 1. Despite this she never stopped loving God. When Nanny was in her mid-thirty's, she developed lung cancer. This was hard for Nanny because she had a loving husband and three children to care for including my father. My Nanny prayed to God everyday to give her the strength to get through her terrible disease. God answered her prayers and soon enough she was well again and lived for many more years. I give my Nanny much credit for all the courage and faith that she had during the time she was not well. Nanny's cancer came out of remission twice before she died at the age of 70 when I was 7 years old. She left behind all her religious statues some of which were given to my father. She also left behind a family who admired her greatly for all of her courage and faith. An important similarity between Nanny and Saint Therese is that they were both Christ-like in their actions and beliefs. In addition, Saint Therese and my Nanny are both loved and missed very much.

It serves as a good lesson to not forget the taught, or not listen to the ways of minorities. In this case, the Native American Indians lived in this land long before many of our ancestors, and it was wise to learn from what they taught. We not only learned, but we have expanded on it with increased technology. But where would be if we forgot or shut out those traditions?

Child Molester Arrested

There have been accusations that a coach of a youth league soccer team in this town has been arrested and charged with molesting some of the kids on the team. The newspaper has made the decision to publish the story about the man's arrest. There is one problem, though; six years ago another soccer coach in the same league pleaded guilty to a similar charge, not related to the most recent one. This coach is serving prison time for what he did. His wife and kids still live in this same town. The newspaper does not know how they should handle this story.

The newspaper should mention in the story that another coach had been charged with a similar crime years ago. In the course of doing this, the coach's name or other details should not be included in this story. Even though it was years ago, parents and the community have the right to know about this because this could be a team that they were planning to put their children on. The coach's name should not be included because this is in his past and he is serving his time for it.

The editor of the newspaper should not include a reference to the earlier incident, including the name of the coach. If they were to do this, the kids could be affected. The kids would feel very betrayed and embarrassed. They may be young or older kids whose lives could be humiliated at school or other activities they may participate in. Everyone should be able to see that these kids have already been through enough in the past, and may be working on getting their future on track.

The newspaper should not report the incident without referring to the other incident six years ago. If the newspaper does this, no one would have knowledge of what happened a while back. Its better safe than sorry. This may embarrass the man's family, but he have to suffer the consequences that he bought on himself. This man's kids are another story because keeping them out of the media can still protect them. The less exposure to this story can even become so that they know nothing about it. That depends on the wife.

The newspaper should publish the story, including the earlier case. The best way to do that is to not mention any names to protect the man's kids. Other people can still get a better understanding without including names because that should be a story that they will never forget. The newspaper should also warn the community to think twice of whom they trust around their kids.

What does it mean to be assertive? According to Clare Lindsay, professional counselor and author of Conquering Anorexia, you should look out for your own personal rights, needs, and responsibilities.Another important aspect is to treat others as "equals".Be fair and learn to say "No" when requests are not possible.Being assertive can lead to a variety of positive influences in your life.People can enjoy a "pleasant working environment, boost their self-esteem, build confidence, and lower stress".Some helpful ideas to remember when asserting yourself include telling the person how you feel about something, and recognize that your feelings are genuinely yours. (Lindsay, 001).

There are many different types of people in the world. Some are easier to get along with than others.People can be argumentative, resort to name-calling, and act more superior to achieve what they want done.It is up to you to take responsibility for your own feelings.Getting angry doesn't solve anything. You should take the time to discuss with the other individual what is bothering you.Understand that this person also has rights and you should respect those as well as yourself.People will not always get along, but talking it out and using "I" statements will show ownership of the feelings you have toward a situation. When speaking to the person you should also "pay attention to your tone of voice and body language".This is very important. You must make eye contact and make your words understandable (Kowalski, 18).

At some point or another, everyone has been in a situation where you don't want to do something that someone has asked of you.In these moments, you should not let another person make you feel obligated to do something. The best way to get results that will satisfy you would include standing up for your rights. There are a few things to remember when trying to "stand up for yourself." First you should decide whether it would benefit you or not to complete the task at hand.Don't be worried what others think of you once your decision is made.Reference to the person that you've heard what they have asked and the reason you declined their request is because of "you, not them".Another aspect would be to "stand firm". Make sure you are clear on what you say in your response.Don't let people persuade you to change your answer. If the situation becomes unbearable and will eventually change your decision, you must remove yourself entirely.Being in charge of your life is very important in achieving successful assertive communication (Weiskopf, 18).

Many things can be solved without "raising your voice".You need to bring attention to something that is bothering you.It isn't healthy to keep quiet about things that cause you distress or conflict. Some tips to making a situation or environment calm and not hostile would be to "verbalize the problem; stay calm; stick to the facts; and say it again".It helps for the other person to know you are upset.Remaining cool and collected will usually result in a pleasant response."Blame" can cause difficulty in coming up with a resolution to a situation. If you have to repeat something, do so.By only saying it once, this could result in not being heard the first time, and will not resolve your problem (Cornell, 185).

Another way to know you are asserting yourself would be to recognize four different skills of assertiveness. There are basic, empathic, escalating, and I-language assertion. Each of these areas can help once you've determined that you need to be assertive."Basic Assertion" is an easy way to explain what you believe in, and state the way you feel about something."Empathic Assertion" shows that you have some compassion toward people. When using this type of assertion you should acknowledge the "other person's situation or feelings" and then let them know how you feel about it.The third type of skill, "Escalating Assertion", usually presents itself when nothing is happening with the other party involved.Your assertion builds up and you must remain solid in the end.You may have to say that there will be something consequential happening with no results from your assertiveness. For example, "If you don't stop your disrupting behavior in my classroom, I will be required to contact your parents." Lastly, there is "I-Language Assertion".This is very helpful when you want to "express negative feelings." There are sections to make this effective.Make sure that you explain what is happening with the behavior. Then tell how it involves you. Finally, explain the outcome you would like to see as a result. It is important when beginning to assert yourself that you remain focused.Keep following these rules and try them every chance you get. With time you should be able to master situations as they present themselves. You can apply this knowledge with people you are close to.Make sure to clue them in on what is going to happen first. (Counseling & Mental Health Center).

Everyone has rights. When people don't want to give and take they drop those individual rights.People can lose sight of a situation and they will act aggressively or passive. When situations are not handled in an assertive manner, not everyone will be happy with the outcome.(Messina)

Have you ever wondered if there are certain things that lead to "nonassertive behavior"? There are actually "six myths" that promote this type of behavior. These myths are about "Anxiety, Modesty, Good Friend, Obligation, Gender Role, and Strength of an issue".With "Anxiety", people believe that being anxious about something will generally result in a negative interaction.People think that if you are anxious you are more likely to be a failure. You could feel used, walked over, and picked on.When looking at the "Modesty" myth, it usually taps into three areas. You might not have the capability to think you have good qualities. You might not look at yourself in a positive way.Generally, you don't accept that others will say good things about you. Also, you don't praise others.People believe that if you don't believe in yourself, why should you expect others to? When you are not able to accept compliments this can damage your sense of worth.People can also turn good wishes into a controlling situation.Someone may honor you for a good quality. Before you know it, a favor is being asked of you that relates to that good quality. Some individuals just cannot give kudos to others.People might not be aware of the good things that can come from this.Maybe people cannot do this because of a lack of compliments in their life. The "Good Friend" myth suggests that you automatically think someone else knows how you feel about something.Often times this will leave relationships among friends in state of devastation. The "Obligation" myth means that people put others first before themselves. They feel it is necessary to neglect what they need in order to please others. The "Gender Role" myths occur when men and women act a certain way.Women are more likely to accept requests even if they aren't sensible.According to Breitman & Hatch, women tend to be the ones who think it is their job to take care of everything. Why do women feel compelled to take on such responsibility? Men are more likely to take on a forceful attitude. This usually results in men needing to be in control of the situation. The "Strength of an issue" myth can cause people to not put themselves in danger. They don't want to take the risk of being left out.(Counseling & Mental Health Center)

Saying "No" is a very "powerful" word. When saying "No", you should keep it short and sweet. No explanations are needed.People don't have the right to violate your own privacy.Saying "No" is healthy because it leaves more room for things that you enjoy.Sometimes you need to say "No" while you are on the job.Too much can burn you out fast. Many times we are much too hard on ourselves. We start a job assuming so much is expected of us.What it really boils down to is that we are too hard on ourselves.Saying "No" to things that take a lot of our time can be healthy and we should do everything we can to be assertive and minimize stress (Breitman & Hatch, 000).

Paulo Freire who wrote "The 'Banking' Concept of Education shoed the reader why 'Banking', is not as effective teaching method. I agree that 'Banking' is an ineffective teaching method. Freire made many points on why this was thought out his work but I believe there are five main points.

With 'Banking', the teacher is the subject and the student is the object. The teacher is the active one in the classroom, not the student. Also the teacher has all the knowledge and while the student is just ignorant. In the banking concept of education, knowledge is a gift bestowed by those who consider themselves knowledgeable upon those whom they consider to know nothing. As Paulo Freire shows us, " Projecting an absolute ignorance onto others, a characteristic of the ideology of oppression, negates education and knowledge as processes of inquiry The teachers that use 'banking' assume all learning results to occur in the normal bell curve range. Furthermore the teachers teach by the text and curriculum and only use examples and activities that they suggest. In fact teachers follow the curriculum guide by grade level and date ever year. In other words almost all of the time students all do the same assignment. Of course curriculum and texts do not change from year to year at most schools. But they still expect use to memorize and learn the same way each day.

On the other hand problem posing is the way I believe a effective teacher should teach. The teacher no longer thinks of the students as just there to be taught, but now they want to learn from them as well. Paulo Freire points out, problem posing education affirms "men and women as beings in and with a likewise unfinished reality. In fact they need to be open to ideas and concepts from the students as well as there own. In other words they need to be 'co-investigators' and create with the students. Now the teachers expect good grades, but they give varied amounts of time to do so. Also students work on tasks designed so they can achieve. Sometimes with a large group discussing and debating ideas and sometimes with a smaller group brain-storming. Still the teachers teach instructional objectives, but they are essential to long range goals. Hence teachers identify the long-range objectives and analyze tasks, and then proceeds as rapidly as students. Finally the instructional program is based on a continuum that will lead to long range goals.

Tony Harrison is one of Britains leading film and theatre poets. 'V' is an extremely long poem in rhyming quatrains deliberately echoing Grays Elegy in a Country Churchyard.Displaying many similarities to early 1th century poetry with each stanza presented on only lines and is written in the traditional manner of poetry using iambic pentameter consisting of 10 syllables and 5 accents or stresses per line. Giving Harrison's poem "V" a distinct feeling that we get when reading aspects of sonnets and plays by William Shakespeare or Christopher Marlow consider, Shall I compare thee to a summers day" and "Was this the face that launchd a thousand ships And burnt the topless towers of Ilium? " When read aloud the style of writing creates a sense of a beat.Although Harrison's "V" is in certain aspects similar to the works of 1th century poetry and is written in iambic pentameter like most of English literature's greatest sonnets and plays. The poem does how ever contain irregularities within the language and also in the setting of the poem.Typical 1th century poetry is usually set within a rural surrounding discussing or outlining non-political issues and focuses its attention more toward the beauty, fragility and brilliance of a rural setting.Harrison's poem "V" is set within an urban community and in a contemporary context outlining political and social issues. Harrison chose to assert the "skin's" use of expletives displaying to the reader the social distancing in education and in language. The uses of expletives within a poem were the percentage of language is presented in an immaculate and articulate manner promotes this poem into a contemporary linguistic piece of genius. Its ability to create a similarity between itself and the works of William Shakespeare and then also to shock it readers with its use of a taboo subject all in the same stanza creates an element of shock and surprise. That is in a sense refreshing and successful in its aims to promote issues of social unrest

Within the content of 'V' Harrison successfully captures a moment in English life when Leeds traditional and most prominent industries such as mining collapsed under the height of thatcherism undermining a whole way of life by identifying a delinquents unrest through his language and surroundings. The Poem is depicted within a graveyard in Leeds where Harrison's mother and father are buried, Harrison describes the desecration of his parent graves and the surrounding graves through acts of vandalism by as Harrison describes "skins" a colloquial term for delinquents.Harrison puts the resultant nihilism into the mouth of a lager-swilling "skin" who due to the present social unrest have taken to acts of vandalism in order to suppress the feelings of bitterness, discontent and shear idleness.Caused by unemployment and a general dissatisfaction felt towards the extremely right wing conservative government by the northern working class. These feelings of bitterness, discontent and shear idleness are not presented within the vandalism in terms of a distinct and articulate act upon the government or the resentment at industry closures and unemployment they are in instead four letter expletives.Subconscious acts that define their social unrest but are written in terms of an alcoholic rage after a failed football match.

Despite being educated at a Leeds grammar school and then progressing on to gain a degree at Leeds University, Harrison does not class himself as a member of the middle class educated elite. He instead still views himself very much as a working class citizen choosing never to denounce his working class background in relation to his education. Much of this working class attitude is reflected within "V" with aspects such as Harrison admittance that for all his berating of the youth culture and shear despair at the desecration of his parents graves, he is in a sense understanding towards the delinquent activities of the "skins"

"Big and small bags that withstand the test of time." The luggage you buy today is likely to look spiffier longer then the suitcases you purchased in the past. Test point out overall quality, durability, and convenience. The result of improved design and manufacturing nearly fifty bags representing leading brands and top-selling styles. During the test a large rotating steel drum was used. For durability each bag went up to 1000 revolutions. Some didn't make it all the way through.Zippers gave out, pull handles were damaged, or various bits and pieces broke off. To see which one was the easiest to pull over a carpet, concrete, and tile the bags were given a road test. Most bags rolled merrily along, judgements were about the pull-handle height and the ease of maneuvering a fully packed suitcase.

Large upright backpacks are less likely to flop over than carry-on-bags. Most of the carry-ons and large upright include a garment carrier to keep dress suits and jackets neat. On larger bags look for two grip handles, they make it easier to hoist, lift and carry a full suitcase, Nylon or ballistic nylon is more durable than polyester. Having a heavy business travel schedule a more durable bag should be chosen regardless of price. They're more likely to hold up well over time. Leisure travelers can grab bags judged good or better for durability. For carry ons the Atlantic Professional 50 and the Delsey Horizon 61,74, which cost $170, was chosen as best buys. For large uprights the Travelpro Platinum II, which is $50, topped the category for wheeled backpacks. The Eagle Creek Switch backpack, which costs $00, won in that category. The Samsonite, which is $150, and the Protocol, which is $100, were the best because of the combination of clothes and laptops. The Protocol Tacoma, which only costs $75 is the best buy for the garment bags.

I myself have a Samsonite and it works just fine. I like the idea of being able to lock the zippers together for security. I think any bag would be satisfying for any trip, but if your going to go on a lot of trips the more expensive one would be better because of all the luxuries given and the durability of the bag. But yet again if you buy the most expensive brand and your luggage gets lost, then you are out all the money you spent on the bag, which would be horrible. But whatever your preference is for travel will help in determining the bag you buy.

An essay is composed of several paragraphs, as few as two or as many as necessary, all in support of an idea or a series of related ideas. The essay gives the writer an opportunity to explore a topic fully and to express ideas and feelings completely. There are four basic types of essays Narration( tells a story), Description (shows the reader some object), Exposition (explains the writer's views), and Persuasion ( convinces the reader to accept the writer's ideas). These are the four basic types of writing.

The thesis statement is a generalization which an essay supports, develops, clarifies, illustrates, and explains (writing step by step.) Every word, sentence, and idea in the essay must support the thesis statement. This is why it is important to write with a focus. The thesis statement is to the essay as the topic sentence is to the paragraph. It can be broken down into two distinct parts the topic and the limiting idea. The topic states the general topic or subject to be covered; the limiting idea narrows the topic to one specific aspect to be developed in the paper.

Before starting the actual writing process it is important to keep all your thoughts organized. This is where the outline comes in. An outline provides a road map to follow as you write, which minimizes your chances of getting lost or unorganized. There are four types of outlines; the scratch outline which is the most informal method of outlining, The topic sentence outline which lists the topic sentences that would appear in the body of your essay, The topic outline that differs from the topic sentence outline. It is not written in complete sentences, rather it presents it's information in words or phrases. Then there is the sentence outline that is very similar to the topic outline. It is also written in complete sentences. The sentence outline is a good indicator of the relationship between ideas and paragraphs and of the approximate length of an essay.

Another way to add unity and coherence to a work is the title. There are five basic guidelines for writing of choosing titles First it is important not to underline your title. Second, keep your title short, using half a dozen words or less. Third, make the title related to the essay or it's thesis. Fourth, write your title in such a way to keep the interest of your reader to find out exactly what the title means. Fifth, and final, place the title on the title page. This is a process that must be followed and remembered.

Warrant officer Laquitta Joseph had to join the engineering battalion combat team in order to see the front lines of war. Laquitta is barred by US law from ground combat. I do not believe that this situation is appropriate or that Laquitte should have to find such a secquitous route in order to participate on the front lines of combat.

Our government argues that the needs of the military must precedence over all other considerations. Title VII of Civil Rights Act of 164, ensures that all individuals are treated equally with respect to civilian employment, but this does not apply to the military profession. It is argued that the military is a specialized society that is separate from the civilian.

Americans are guaranteed equal rights and this prohibition directly conflicts with that guarantee. Women in the military fill old time traditional rolls of cooks, clerks, and administrators. Whilst one can appreciate the inherent difficulties for women dealing with this "mans world", this alone does not justify such a prohibition.

A central goal of the feminist movement is to establish a fully sexually integrated military, trained, fit, and ready to engage in combat. Many countries throughout the world permit women to fight on the front lines. Israel is an example of this and has successfully permitted females to contribute as much as male combatants. The Russian female pilots were called "night witches" by the Germans. They were viciously successful soldiers. Women were some of the most brutal fighters in the French underground in World War Two.

I appreciate the argument that women need to be the bearers and protectors of our children. At the same time, they ought to, at a minimum, have the right to choose front line combat. They have capacities and strengths, which on many occasions can equal, and far exceed those of our male warriors. Issues of hygiene, body modesty, respect, and sexual harassment have to be taken into consideration, but these are not objections that we can not overcome. If women are kept at home and don't know how to fight, they shall be virtually useless in our most important homeland defense.

I believe that women in combat would not adversely affect military readiness and effectiveness. In fact, the skills we possess ought to support and be consistent with the needs of the military, for expertise, dedication and strength. In America, women have made a lot of ground, but we still have a long way to go.

We all first met young Willie, some 11 years ago

We needed a coach for this new sport quite desperately you know

So along came our Willie to teach us to play touch

And I know that he despaired, we needed help so much!

And from there with us Turtles, our friendship it did grow

As we saw more of Willie and him we began to know

We had parties, we had barbeques and Willie always came along

We learnt with food and with drinking he was always really strong

And on that famous trip to Bali, it was eating that saved his life

And Willie is always the leader, whenever there was strife

He's always involved with rugby, part of the naughty foursome known

There was Willie, Ian, Paul and Norrie, their reputation is firmly sown

And as for Willie Louie time it's so different to other time

It seems his watches never work they're an hour or three behind

But when he finally does arrive, in his big red jalopy jeep

He is always so generous and he always earns his keep

Specially when he came along as a camping we did go

And he taught us about night noises, although we thought that we did know

And he taught us the tent walls are thin, and have to be put far away

So we could all get some needed sleep, without the snoring in the way

Out camping then together, our camp at Tawharanui

Would never ever be the same, without our Willie Louie

And so this year, you won't be here, in England you will be

We'll miss you heaps, your cooking lots, you'll miss the sun and sea

So a few little things from us to you, to remind you of us here

To remind you of our camping times, when you'll be far away over there

And although you are turning sixty years, you are as young as young can be

You are living life to the fullest, it is there for all to see

You're generous, your heart is great, you are warm and caring, our friend

May the next 60 years be as good and our friendship never end
