A dream is what whom may want but wishes that it may come true. In the this story there lived
a family that had many dreams that they wanted to accomplish but cannot unless they have the
money in order to want there dreams. In this family they are known as the Younger family. In
the Younger family there lived five people in the household. There names are Walter Lee
Younger, Lena Younger, Ruth Younger, Travis younger, and Beneatha Younger. They dont
have much in there house but Lena would want her to grow older and mature. ONe of Lenas
example of them are the plant that she keeps near her . A Raisin In The Sun was by Lorraine Hansberry.
Dreams that can only come true for the Younger family is for them to receive the money. Each
dreams that they each have has to involve with money. Lena wasnt to excited when the money
came in but she always wanted to buy a house that was decent. Her dreams also involved her
gardening in the new house she always wanted. For Lena to want her dreams to come true she
has been waitting for it for so long . But she can only achieve the money from her husband
death. She didnt feel right taking the money but she wanted to offer it to the church but Ruth
told her she should use the money by using spending it on her dreams.
In there dreams the Younger family has to wait for the money to come in the mail that was all
because of the husband of Lena Younger of his death. They recieved 10,000 and that would
make them not poor as they used to be. Lenas dreams were to buy a house so the family could
live in that wouldnt be all packed in the house. Beneatha would want to use the money by
paying for education for medical school. Beneatha would want to be a doctor when she
recieves the money. Back than women couldnt be doctors they could only be nurses or
teachers. Walter wanted to own a liquer store when the money arrived But as it turns out only
Lena may have her dreams come true.
As this story goes along Lorraine Hansberry shows us how blacks werent slaves anymore but
even though they stopped having slaves the whites still treat them like slaves. Lorraine
Hansberry also showed us that Walter Lee and his sister may act like kids at times. She also
showed us how Walter Lee has Grown into man when throughout the video all he wanted was
to make his family follow his dreams. Lorraine has also shown us how The Younger family
grow together as a family.
I believe that A Raisin In The Sun was a good way of showing us how some dreams dont have
